Laser Therapy and Sports Massage

cold laser therapy benefits

As part of our amazing range of services at Relief Chiropractic, we are excited to talk about everything we offer. We’re going to look at our laser therapy and sports massage services and how they can help you get to the root of your concerns, treat any discomfort you may be experiencing, and lead an active, happier lifestyle.

Laser Therapy

Laser therapy has many applications, but most notable is its use in pain and inflammation management. This form of therapy uses low power or ‘soft’ laser light to aid the natural healing process of the body safely and effectively. Class 3 and 4 lasers are used in this therapy to reduce pain and inflammation, relax muscles, stimulate nerves, and aid the healing process.

There’s many cold laser therapy benefits and a body of good evidence. Working well in combination with chiropractic adjustments or massage for pain relief and improved resolution of acute and chronic pain syndromes.

Laser therapy may be appropriate for:

  • Tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis or shoulder impingement.
  • Joint inflammation, for example in the knee.
  • Pain management during the early stages of chiropractic.
  • Faster healing from acute or chronic soft tissue conditions.

Our laser therapy is run by Rebecca Oakley, who joined the team to provide Medical Class 3b Laser Therapy. Rebecca has over two years of experience utilising lasers, and over 20 years as a sports massage therapist. This experience and insight give us even more ways to help patients and we couldn’t be happier to have her on the team.

Sports Therapy at Relief

Sports Massage

Along with laser therapy, we are also very pleased to offer our patients sports massage services.

First and foremost, sports massage is not for someone who is looking for a relaxing massage with no medical need. Instead, this treatment uses deep tissue mobilisation techniques to treat sport-related and non-sport related injuries.

This allows for a wide range of health benefits including increasing venous return, relaxation, increasing tissue elasticity, reducing and eliminating pain, and improving recovery on the whole. It can also be used in line with training regimes to prevent any future injuries and reduce delayed onset muscle soreness.

Our sports massage team is on hand to offer patients a specialised sports massage programme. If you believe you could benefit from a consultation at Relief Chiropractic please contact our friendly team who will help you find the support you need.
